1. Guided Tour of the Opéra Palais Garnier

The Opéra Palais Garnier has enough history to star in its own opera. In the 15 years it took to build between 1860 and 1875, Paris saw the Prussian invasion and the Commune. What was conceived as an imperial gem to complete Haussman’s redesign of Paris under Napoleon III, was inaugurated as the Academie Nationale de Musique in 1875 under the newly established 3rd Republic. Look up, and you’ll see the 8 ton bronze and crystal chandelier which famously fell in 1910, killing a concierge and inspiring the novel-turned-show Phantom of the Opera. Here you will also find Marc Chagall’s handiwork on the domed fresco he painted in 1964.

The iconic Ionesco plays, ‘The Lesson’ and ‘The Bald Soprano’ have been playing at Théâtre de la Huchette for over 60 years and now offer the incredible chance to take part in a workshop before seeing the show itself!
