Story: Cygnet Theatre presents The Tempest and Romeo & Juliet

Romeo and Juliet might be Shakespeare’s most famous play. Who could resist the heart wrenching story of the star-crossed lovers? For this production, Cygnet Theatre Company is putting a twist on the famous love story by transposing it into Alice in Wonderland’s magical world and with a predominantly female cast.

Through music, choreography and an inventive staging, The Tempest will transport you to an enchanting island where the magician Prospero lives with his daughter and servants. Dealing with themes of justice, corruption and love, The Tempest will allow you savour Shakespeare’s iambic pentameters and to be spellbound by its beautiful images.
