As restrictions begin to ease Paris and other parts of Europe, we’re all starting to get excited to be welcomed back to the theatre and watch our favourite shows in the flesh. While plans understandably remain uncertain, many theatres are hoping to reopen in Paris throughout the course of the summer, provided it’s safe to do so. We’re certainly planning for what’s to come and can’t wait to get our hands on theatre tickets for the approaching seasons. Here are our top picks for shows to see if you’re planning to visit Paris soon.
How to Become a Parisian in One Hour
Described as ‘très bon’ and ‘an evening of pure joy’ by spectators, this is certainly a show you don’t want to miss. Playing until January 2021, it would be a great spectacle to add to your winter itinerary. How to Become Parisian in One Hour is completely accessible to English speakers, and we’re certainly supporters of rendering theatre more accessible to international audiences. In fact, you may even learn some French along the way! Comedian Olivier Giraud’s one-man show is a hilarious way of immersing yourself in French culture and learning more about the Paris we all know and love today – you’ll thank us later! The Lion King, the Musical
You’re likely to already be a fan of this musical – we certainly are and have been for years. We couldn’t be happier to be partnering with Théâtre Mogador for this all-time favourite. Gracing the Parisian stage for the second time, it’s definitely not a spectacle that you want to miss. What better way to welcome the theatre back into our lives than by immersing ourselves in Simba’s fascinating world? It’s due to be running until January 2021, so you have plenty of time to book a visit to the theatre and have a watch for yourself.
42nd Street
If you’re a fan of jukebox musicals, look no further for another one of our favourites. The Théâtre du Châtelet will be welcoming 42nd Street later this year, yet another show that will be running until January 2021. 42nd Street tells a riveting tale of love, money and competition, and you’re certainly in for an entertaining evening if it revolves around this Harry Warren Masterpiece. Be sure to have a browse for tickets in the coming months!
Crazy Horse Cabaret Show
We adore a good cabaret show, and the Crazy Horse cabaret is right up there with the best of the best. There’s no dialogue, so no need to worry about language barriers, all you need to be prepared for is scintillating dance numbers and passion. Take a trip to Paris’ renowned cabaret hall, Crazy Horse for an unforgettable evening. Keep an eye out for tickets later this year, you won’t regret it.
Lido de Paris Cabaret Show
Our final pick for a show to see during your trip to Paris this year is the Lido de Paris Cabaret Show, one that’s bound to leave you starstruck. A true combination of elegance and passion, this multisensory experience won’t be one you’ll forget anytime soon. Various artists of great talent perform on the Lido stage every evening, including the Bluebell Girls, the most glamorous dancers in Paris (and have been for 70 years!). If you want to enhance the experience, try our Champagne & Show deal and enjoy a unique evening in the City of Lights!
