HIGHLIGHTS: PRIMORDIAL BY ANTONIN LEYMARIE

A show? A performance? Or both?

Whatever the case, the Théâtre Silvia Monfort invites you to enjoy an extraordinary experience with Primordial, a performance by composer Antonin Leymarie. Let yourself be transported on an immersive journey to the heart of vital rhythm, where sound, movement and light synchronise to create a symphony of the senses.

At centre stage sits a veritable "wall of sound"... an amplified drum kit pulsing with raw energy. This engine roars the performance to life, transporting the audience into a realm of primal pulsations and spellbinding vibrations.

A dancer moves in harmony with the rhythm, his movements echoing the heartbeat of the music. His presence embodies the very essence of Primordial, an exploration of the connection between sound and movement.

The stage is transformed into a visual landscape, with throbbing lights and projections amplifying the experience. The audience is projected into a vortex of sound, movement and light.

Primordial transcends the boundaries of traditional theatre and invites the audience to become active participants. The immersive nature of the show breaks down the barriers between performers and audience to offer a unique experience of rhythm and movement.

Primordial is more than just a performance. It's an invitation to explore the fundamental rhythms that underpin our existence. Are you ready for a journey into the depths of your own being?

History and Fun Facts about the Théâtre Silvia Monfort

But who was this famous Silvia Monfort, after whom a theatre was named?

Not surprisingly, she was a great French actress who was born in Paris in 1923 and died in 1991. She was a member of the French Resistance, an actress, a novelist, a director and a theatre director. Silvia Monfort was one of the greatest interpreters of Racine's Phèdre.

The theatre that bears her name, the Théâtre Silvia Monfort, built in the heart of Georges Brassens Park, is now a genuine cultural venue with a rich and varied programme, resolutely oriented towards new authors and theatrical forms. Fans of both French and international theatre come here to discover directorial nuggets, visual shows and plays created by companies from all over the world. Added to this are the two plus points of the Théâtre Silvia Monfort, which on sunny days make it a place not to be missed: its green terrace and cosy bar, a real meeting place like no other in Paris.

Originally set up in the Marais under the name Carré Thorigny, the Théâtre Silvia Monfort as we know it today moved into the former abattoirs of Vaugirard in 1979. The current buildings were inaugurated in 1992. Discover this venue dedicated to contemporary creation and discovery, with a varied programme focusing on the diversity of genres and cultures.
