HIGHLIGHTS: L’OISEAU-LIGNES

Created by Chloé Moglia (acrobat) and Marielle Chatain (musician), L'Oiseau-lignes is a surprising show presented at the Théâtre du Rond-Point. The two artists combine their talents to offer a beautiful visual and aural experience.

The show unfolds in a space where gravity seems suspended, inviting the public to raise their eyes and marvel at the suspended movements of Chloé Moglia. She moves with striking grace on aerial apparatus, transforming each movement into a meditation on balance, lightness and inner strength as if she were drawing lines on a blackboard. Her aerial and terrestrial performance is accompanied by Marielle Chatain's sound creations, which play with lines and shapes, adding a dreamlike dimension to the whole experience.

The title L'Oiseau-lignes evokes fluidity and fragility, recalling the image of a bird in flight, tracing invisible lines in the air. This metaphor is echoed in the set design and choreography, where each gesture and movement seems to draw ephemeral patterns, uncertain trajectories that are full of meaning. Carefully integrated music and lighting enhance the dreamlike atmosphere.

This show is a veritable ode to contemplation, to slow, meticulous movement. It invites us to reflect deeply on the body, space and time. L'Oiseau-lignes is a work of great poetry that calls on us to soar in every sense of the word.

A must-see and…even more so…a must-see again!

History and Fun Facts about Théâtre du Rond-Point

If you ever want to feel the pulse of the French theatre scene, the Théâtre du Rond-Point is the place to be! But which roundabout or "rond-point" is it exactly? It's one of the most famous roundabouts in Paris, located near the Champs-Elysées, smaller than the famous Etoile roundabout under the Arc de Triomphe. Since 1981, it has attracted a host of directors from all over the world and a host of people with a passion for theatre. A major venue for contemporary creation since 1991, the Rond-Point does not programme "what people like, but what they don't yet know they like", according to Jean-Michel Ribes, the theatre's former director. Since 2023, Laurence de Magalhaes and Stéphane Ricordel have taken over the reins of this theatre, which is still rooted in contemporary creation and focuses on living authors.
