HIGHLIGHTS: IL TANGO DELLE CAPINERE

Ah, Love...!
A major figure on the international stage, Emma Dante revisits her famous show Ballarini to present a new, deeply moving version at the Théâtre Silvia Monfort. On stage, two actors portray a pair of lovers united by a passionate love that stands the test of time.

To the rhythm of Italian songs from the 60s and 70s, the protagonists transport us back to their youth and retrace the key moments of their love story: the meeting, the first kiss, the marriage, the birth of their child. They dance, sing and laugh, bringing to life the intensity of their feelings and the beauty of their life together.

But the play is not just a celebration of love. It also touches on deeper themes of loss, grief and loneliness. The characters draw on the strength of their unwavering love to face the passing of time and inevitable tragedies of life.

Emma Dante’s simple staging leaves space for emotions, tenderness, and the actors' performance. Light, sound and everyday objects are transformed into poetic elements, helping to create a dreamlike atmosphere that is truly touching.

Il tango delle capinere is a play that will resonate with anyone who has experienced love, loss and resilience.
A true ode to life and its contradictions, to the fragile beauty of feelings and the unalterable strength of love.
It's hard not to be tempted by this delightful offering from the heart!
