Americans love Paris and some even become expats, but today for #musicalmonday there is one American in Paris we want to talk about. The musical "An American in Paris"! This romantic show tells the story of a man who wants to rebuild his life after World War II and decides to move to Paris to foster his love for painting with his friends. He meets a mysterious French ballerina named Lise who turns out to be the woman he has been encouraging his friend Henri to propose to! What a #love triangle!
This captivating production made its way onto Broadway in 2015 and is set to close in 2017. This show was nominated for 12 Tony awards! Now this production is on its way to the London’s famous West End for a tour starting in March 2017. BUT did you know that this show actually started in Paris? This show first made its debut in Paris at Théâtre du Châtelet in 2014. The musical was in fact inspired by the film An American in Paris (1951)!
This show just makes you love Paris so much more! Who’s ready to book their flights to France?!
