Read on for a comprehensive list of the wide variety of smash-hit shows you can catch at the one-and-only Lido 2 Paris.
History of the Lido de Paris (Now Lido 2 Paris)
The Lido is a former Parisian cabaret located in Champs-Élysées. Nowadays, this gorgeous venue serves as a hot-spot for fun and entertainment, offering shows consisting of captivating dancers, passionate singers, and talented artists. Recently, the venue underwent huge renovation to become a performance hall that focuses on Broadway-style plays and musicals. Now, this historical edifice debuts as the updated Lido 2 Paris!
Since the late 1930s, the Lido has been recognised throughout Paris’s bustling theatre scene as a hub of entertainment, featuring exotic cabaret and burlesque shows for locals and tourists alike to enjoy. The Lido shows have been known for their stellar and dazzling costume designs, complete with breathtaking dance numbers. The stage has played host to a multitude of famous talents, such as Edith Piaf, Elton John, Eartha Kitt, and Josephine Baker.
The building where the Lido 2 Paris now stands began as an artificial beach for the upper members of society and doubled as a late-night casino, until French producer Léon Volterra acquired the property and turned it into a performance hall. The venue was sold again in the mid-1900s and updated to feature its famous “dinner-show” formula. A sister-location also had a short stint in Las Vegas, Nevada before closing in 1992.
Why was the Lido de Paris so famous?
The Lido 2 Paris quickly rose to fame due to the entrancing and talented artists they employed, which attracted patrons from all over Paris. In 1948 Margaret Kelly (known by her stage name “Miss Bluebell”) and her Bluebell Girls permanently joined the Lido and were considered by many to be some of the most beautiful and talented burlesque dancers in all of Paris. The Lido quickly became known for its cabaret’s breathtaking costumes, which featured colourful feathers and rhinestones along with luxurious furs.
Although the Lido is no longer showcasing its cabaret show, you still have plenty of options to see similar entertainment in Paris!

Renovation
Upon its purchase by Accor Hotels in early 2022, it was announced that the famous building would be turned from a cabaret into a venue for musicals headed by producer, Jean-Luc Choplin. In its transformation, the Lido 2 Paris showcased an elegant new design of red and gold, while still paying homage to the colourful history of its original decor.
After the renovations were competed, the Lido 2 Paris had its grand opening and was ready to welcome visitors into its updated and immersive experience. Within its first season, the Lido 2 Paris produced shows such as the classic, fun-filled Rocky Horror Picture Show, took audiences back to the 1960s with Les Années Twist, and showcased the classic Sondheim comedy A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.
