Le Baiser Salé Jazz Club
History and Fun Facts about Le Baiser Salé Jazz Club
In 1983 the Gibson brothers created this legendary jazz club in the very heart of Paris. Musicians themselves, the three brothers of Cuban origin wanted to create a warm environment where anyone could come and listen to live music and enjoy a drink. For over 35 years, Parisians and travelers alike can enjoy a rich program of talented artists changing each evening in this warm welcoming atmosphere. The list of artists that made their big break at Le Baiser Salé continues to grow, including jazz greats you can find at international jazz festivals such as Richard Bona and Angélique Kidjo and also Monica Passos, Ultramarine, Les Étoiles, Sylvain Luc, Rido Bayonne, Leni Stern, Thierry Elliez, Etienne Mbappé, Mario Canonge, Nguyen Le...the list goes on.
One of the most well-known Parisian jazz clubs, Le Baiser Salé has certainly earned its reputation as one of the best places to discover new talent. Here the musicians are free and encouraged to create and invent, to take risks and to give birth to unlikely matchups, you never know what surprises they have in store! You'll even have the chance to continue the evening and join the performers at the venue's large horseshoe-shaped bar for a drink.
